Ceretel Launches New Prepaid Card to Better Serve the Immigrant Community

 

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.– March 9, 2016 — Cachet Financial Solutions, Inc. (OTCQB: CAFN), a leading mobile fintech provider, has been selected by CereTel Inc., an international telecommunications leader, to develop, deploy and manage a new prepaid mobile banking platform to be offered to CereTel’s multicultural customer base of more than 6 million consumers and sold via the company’s distribution network of more than 40,000 retail stores across the U.S.  This major retail opportunity is expected to go live in Q2 2016.

Ceretel Not Named In FCC Actions. Owns STi Brand, Not STi Telecom

You may be aware of the recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) action against six pre-paid telecommunications companies fining them $5,000,000 each for deceptive practices from the year 2010 towards consumers of prepaid calling cards. The fined companies include:

  • Locus Telecommunications
  • Lyca Tel
  • NobelTel
  • Simple Network
  • STi Telecom
  • Touch-Tel USA

Although Ceretel Inc. is the proud owner of the STi brand, we are not STi Telecom and we were not named nor fined by the FCC for deceptive marketing practices or for misleading consumers of prepaid calling cards. CereTel acquired the STi brand in March of this year and has no connection with STi Telecom
